Canned tuna in oilcanning
(Block flakes)
"The 'canned tuna in oil' produced by Okinawa Prefectural Okinawa Fisheries High School is a practical training product made using albacore tuna caught by students in the Marine Technology Department during a 90-day sailing practical training. The entire manufacturing process, from tuna dissection, steaming, cleaning, sealing, weighing and packing, vacuum sealing, sterilization, inspection, and labeling, is done by hand by the students. The seasoning used is 'Shimamaasu,' a long-established local brand of salt from Itoman City, with which the school has been collaborating since 2022. It comes in block and flake types to suit different uses. The pop and cute package design was selected from entries submitted through an in-school competition. It is a masterpiece born from the collaboration between high school students and a local brand!" (General Studies Department / 2nd year / Ishigaki Haruki)
• Capacity: 160g (block), 150g (flakes)
• How to purchase: Available for purchase at the school festival "Okisuisai".

Winter melon and tuna (dark meat)
Tomato Curry
"This is a retort curry that utilizes the dark meat, an unused part of tuna caught during a sailing practical training. Students handled everything from planning and development to manufacturing and sales. It's a product that makes full use of nutrients such as iron, vitamin A, zinc, myoglobin, and taurine, and is also mindful of the SDGs. It uses winter melon and Chura carrots from Itoman and tomatoes from Tomigusuku, making it easy to eat even for people who don't like fish, and has a mild flavor that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. Students from Okinawa Prefectural Okinawa Fisheries High School handled the procurement of raw materials, pre-processing, component testing, and inspection, while Okinawa Prefectural Southern Commercial High School was in charge of the package design. This curry is full of local charm, born from the collaboration and practical learning of local high schools." (General Studies / 3rd year / Shimabukuro Sae)

Okinawa Prefectural Okinawa Fisheries High School
"Taking advantage of Okinawa's unique characteristics as a sea-surrounded region, this school offers practical training in the fields of fisheries, marine science, and food. Experiential learning is abundant, including sailing and diving training on training vessels, and food processing practical training. Through qualification acquisition and collaboration with local industries, students develop the skills to become immediately employable and cultivate a deep respect for the sea. School facilities include a ship simulator room for those aspiring to become navigators, as well as permanent welfare and care training rooms and bathing training rooms, allowing students to learn about caregiving. Extracurricular activities are also thriving, with clubs such as a boxing club and marine sports clubs, befitting a fisheries high school. The canoe club has a strong track record, having produced athletes who have competed in the National Sports Festival. In baseball, the team was runner-up in the 72nd and 73rd Koshien tournaments. In 2025, the boys' basketball team won the prefectural high school championship for the first time in 57 years." (General Studies / 2nd year / Kaito Arakaki)
