Nestled within a lush green park stands the "Kasai Rinkai Park Observation Plaza Rest House Crystal View," a building that stretches horizontally. Kasai, a glass pavilion floating on the seashore

This rest house stands in the observation plaza of Kasai Rinkai Park in Edogawa Ward, Tokyo. Located at the end of the promenade leading from Kasai Rinkai Park Station towards Tokyo Bay, the all-glass building sits atop a gentle slope. Architect Yoshio Taniguchi envisioned Kasai Rinkai Park as a large garden, and further designed the rest house and the glass dome of the Kasai Rinkai Aquarium, which he had previously designed and completed, as a pair of garden stones. The building, with two floors above ground and one basement floor, is a long, slender rectangular prism measuring 75m wide, 7m deep, and 11m high. It employs a cage-like lattice structure made of assembled white steel frames, so there are no columns inside. As you ascend gently via stairs and ramps, the scenery changes. The first floor introduces the history of Kasai's land reclamation, its natural environment, and its wild birds. On the second floor, you can enjoy panoramic views of Tokyo Bay and the Boso Peninsula.
