"MOUNTAIN COLLECTOR" is a project by mountain collector Yuka Suzuki, who climbs various mountains both in Japan and abroad, photographs the scenery she encounters there, and then turns those photographs into handkerchiefs. While her previous works focused on high-altitude locations, this time she has collected and crafted images of sea and island landscapes at near sea level. She says that when she traveled to places where the sea, land, and mountains are gently connected, she realized that she was looking at mountains and other parts of nature with an equal eye, without making a distinction. The handkerchief is delightful because it appears as an abstract pattern when folded, but reveals a sea scene when unfolded. "The material is a thin cotton lawn, so it dries quickly and is easy to take to the beach or mountains. You can also wear it around your neck or use it to cover the contents of your bag. It's a large size, so it can be used in many ways."Tokio Takizawa)
