This driftwood sculpture, which you might hear whale calls from if you stare at it for a while, was created as part of the "3framers" project, a collaboration between Chiba Kousakusho, which produces furniture and miscellaneous goods using iron, stainless steel, copper, and brass, ceramic artist Koichi Mizuno, and the woodworking furniture workshop EVEN. "I helped with this exhibition project, and it started with the three of them saying, 'We want to do something with driftwood!' This is Chiba-san's creation, where he added metal eyes and fins to the driftwood to make a whale.
