This boat-shaped candle holder was created by Lisa Larson, one of Sweden's leading ceramic artists, at her own studio, Keramikstudio Gustavsberg. While Lisa Larson is strongly associated with animal motifs such as lions and cats, she also spent her life from graduating from university until her death at the age of 92 in Gustavsberg, a port town on the outskirts of Stockholm, and therefore has many works featuring marine life, ships, sailors, and other nautical motifs.
