There are so many planets in the universe, so why does Earth have oceans? Why does water remain in liquid form, forming vast oceans?

A. The reason oceans exist on Earth is because of the miraculous distance they maintain from the sun.

The range of orbits on a planet, like Earth's, where liquid water (i.e., oceans) can exist."Habitable zone" (area where life can survive)The theory is that if the Earth were closer to the sun, all the seawater would evaporate. Conversely, if it were farther away, the seawater would freeze.

The Earth is in just the right position.

The existence of water as oceans allows carbon-containing substances, sunlight, and thermal energy to circulate, creating an environment where life can originate. These conditions combine to give rise to and support a diverse range of life forms on Earth.
The miracle of life can be called a miracle of the sea.
